Native Bali Pilates
The studio that feels like home, and where I send first-timers.
Pererenan · 2–4 min from MAR BaliNative is my personal favourite and the studio I recommend most, whether a guest has done Pilates before or not. The instructors are welcoming and supportive with every level, and the progression from beginner to more advanced work feels natural.
The studio is bright, airy and naturally lit, and it has kept a Bali feel that some of the more polished Canggu studios have lost. Classes cover both Reformer and Tower Pilates. What keeps me coming back is the community: people remember your name and notice when you have been away. On a stay of a week or two, that familiarity matters.
- First-time Pilates students
- Reformer and Tower classes
- A warm, community atmosphere
- All levels, beginner to advanced
- Building a daily routine during your stay
- More intimate than a wellness club
- Community-focused, not anonymous
- Book ahead in peak season
This is the studio I use myself. I have never sent a guest here who did not go back.
The Pilates Project Bali
Small classes, precise teaching and a calm room.
Pererenan · 3–5 min from MAR BaliThe Pilates Project is the studio I recommend to guests who want something refined, calm and consistent. The space is minimalist and elegant, very much in the Pererenan style.
Classes are kept intentionally small, so the instructors can watch and correct your form instead of running a large group where you are on your own. Nothing feels rushed. It is also minutes from MAR Bali: a class here, then a coffee or a walk down to Pererenan beach, is one of my favourite mornings.
- Boutique reformer sessions
- Personalised form correction
- Calm, unhurried mornings
- Precision over intensity
- Pairing with a café or the beach
- Small classes: book in advance
- A studio, not a lifestyle club
- Focused on movement, not on the social side
The easiest studio to fit into a stay at MAR Bali. Guests who try it once tend to book again.
Ritual Pilates
Dynamic reformer classes in a beautifully designed studio.
Pererenan · ~8 min from MAR BaliRitual is the one I recommend to guests who like their wellness spaces to look as good as they work. The reformer classes are strong, dynamic and well structured, focused on strength, flexibility and alignment, and they still keep a calm atmosphere.
The interiors are modern and clean, somewhere between a training space and a boutique wellness studio. The room has a social energy, which suits guests who want to meet Bali’s wellness community. It is one of the newer studios in the area and it has built a following quickly.
- Dynamic reformer sessions
- Strength, flexibility and alignment
- A social atmosphere
- Design-conscious travellers
- Dynamic classes, not for complete beginners
- Social, not ideal for a quiet solo session
- Newer studio, still building its community
My recommendation for a class that is challenging and beautiful to be in.
Revive Pilates
Canggu’s popular choice for a higher-energy class.
Canggu · 8–10 min from MAR BaliRevive is for guests who want Pilates to feel like a serious workout. Classes are dynamic, strength-focused and demanding, clearly more intense than the boutique reformer sessions in Pererenan.
The crowd is a mix of expats, digital nomads and wellness travellers who use Pilates as their main training. The studio has premium reformers, classes are tightly run and the energy is high. At eight to ten minutes from MAR Bali, it suits guests who are making fitness a deliberate part of the trip.
- High-intensity Pilates
- Energetic group classes
- Pilates as your main training
- The expat and digital nomad crowd
- More intense than the Pererenan studios
- Not for beginners or rehabilitation
- Slightly further from MAR Bali
The right choice if you want to be challenged physically. For something gentler, stay with the Pererenan studios.
Breathe Pilates
The most technical studio of the five, for rehabilitation and serious practice.
Canggu · ~12 min from MAR BaliBreathe has been part of Canggu’s wellness scene for a long time, and its reputation is built on technical precision. Form, posture and correctness come before atmosphere or aesthetics.
The facility is spacious and professional, and the instructors’ technical knowledge makes it the natural choice for guests with specific goals: recovering from an injury, correcting posture or deepening an established practice. It is the furthest studio from MAR Bali, so it is a deliberate trip, not a morning routine.
- Rehabilitation and injury recovery
- Posture correction
- Long-term practitioners
- Specific physical goals
- Furthest from MAR Bali of the five
- Clinical focus, not a social studio
- Not a gentle introduction for beginners
A specialist recommendation for guests who know exactly what they need. For holiday Pilates, the Pererenan studios suit most people better.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Pilates studio in Pererenan is best for beginners?
Native Bali Pilates. The instructors are welcoming with every level and it is easy to feel comfortable from the first session. It is also the studio I use myself.
How far are the Pilates studios from MAR Bali?
Native Bali Pilates and The Pilates Project are 2 to 5 minutes away by scooter, close enough for a daily class. Ritual Pilates is about 8 minutes away, also in Pererenan. Revive is 8 to 10 minutes away in Canggu and Breathe about 12 minutes.
What is the difference between Reformer and Tower Pilates?
Reformer Pilates uses a sliding carriage with springs and straps for resistance and support. Tower Pilates uses a vertical frame with spring-loaded bars and straps, which allows different movement patterns. Native Bali Pilates offers both.
Is Pilates suitable for all fitness levels?
Yes. Native and The Pilates Project work well for mixed levels. If you have an injury or a specific physical condition, Breathe Pilates in Canggu has the most technical approach.
Can MAR Bali help me book Pilates classes?
Yes. Message me on WhatsApp before or during your stay and I will help you find the right studio for your level and your schedule.
